On December 10, 1986, William Peter Fischer shot and killed his then 19-year-old son, Billy, and Billy’s friend Nancy Hyer, who was 21 years old. Their bodies were found on December 21, 1986 in the trunk of Ms. Hyer’s car, which was discovered near the Southampton Elks Club. Blood, fibers, and ballistics matching the victim’s bodies were found in Fischer’s home. William Fischer was indicted on two counts of Murder 2nd Degree on February 25, 1987 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 26, 1987, Fischer’s vehicle was located at JFK airport. To date, he has not been located.
