APS investigates allegations of abuse and/or neglect of impaired adults living in the community who may be dependent on someone else for their basic needs.
Services include investigating reports of child maltreatment, assessing the safety of children in potentially harmful situations, providing intervention and support services to families in crisis, and arranging temporary or permanent placements for children who cannot safely remain with their caregivers.

Provides financial assistance and support services to eligible Suffolk County residents. When dealing with this agency, you may be required to have in your possession a birth certificate (for yourself and children), marriage license, bank books, deed to house, etc.
To protect the rights of families and children by ensuring the just and timely resolution of all cases involving children and families, including child custody and support, neglect and abuse, juvenile delinquency, family offenses (i.e. domestic violence), and paternity.

SCTPVA adjudicates parking summonses, red light camera citations, and moving violations in the five western towns of Suffolk County.
Provides a full range of legal services on civil matters, public assistance, and SSI recipients automatically qualify for services.
Hotline, advocacy, counseling, and orders of protection for all victims of violent crime, sexual assault and domestic violence victims, and elderly, minor, and disabled property crime victims. Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) and Rape Crisis Counselor (RCC) response programs in Suffolk County Emergency Departments for sexual assault victims.
Provides legal advice and representation on financial and criminal matters for people without the means to employ private counsel.
